What is a Red Cross Club?
American Red Cross school clubs are school-based service groups that help the Red Cross fulfill its humanitarian mission. Red Cross Clubs host service projects that fulfill their communities greatest need.

My school already has a Community Service student organization, how is this any different?
That is great! Consider turning it into a Red Cross Club, you can even keep the same name. This way your volunteer efforts in high school can be associated with an internationally recognized organization. In addition we have a great team and resources to help you!
What role do club members play?
Club members work closely with club leaders to help plan and participate in service projects which support the Red Cross mission. Red Cross Clubs offer youth opportunities for personal growth, leadership development and community service opportunities. Being involved in a Red Cross Clubs allows a youth to realize their potential for change within their community to address the community’s greatest needs.
How much support is offered to Red Cross Clubs from The American Red Cross of Southeastern Michigan?
Red Cross clubs are a team effort, where The American Red Cross Southeastern Michigan Chapter, the school and the students all work together. They enable young people, to make their community and the world a better place while providing an opportunity for young people to develop leadership skills.
What is the process to start a Red Cross Club?
1.) Contact The American Red Cross of Southeastern Michigan.
2.) Get your schools approval and find a school sponsor or advisor.
3.) Submit Registration form to the local American Red Cross Chapter.
4.) Schedule your first meeting.
5.) Begin recruiting members!
Is there a cost to starting a Red Cross Club?
No. The American Red Cross of Southeastern Michigan does not charge a fee for Red Cross Clubs.
My school already supports the American Red Cross through doing blood drives, how is this different?
Blood drives are a fantastic way to support the mission of The American Red Cross, however there are many more ways to get involved. Red Cross Clubs offer students the opportunity to be CPR/First aid certified, host workshops, perform service activities and serve as valuable change agents within their own community. In addition students in Red Cross Clubs gain valuable leadership and civic engagement skills that will last a lifetime.
