Welcome!
Welcome to the Youth Blog for the American Red Cross of Southeastern Michigan. It is my hope that this becomes a source of information for you to find ideas, connect with other youth in Southeastern Michigan and open lines of communication. I highly encourage you to subscribe to the blog, this will allow you to receive the most up to date information directly to your inbox!
I also wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Laura Kaczor and I am the Youth Coordinator for the American Red Cross of Southeastern Michigan Chapter. I graduated from Central Michigan University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Communication and Marketing. For the last three years I have been working in higher education in student activities. I joined the American Red Cross of Southeastern Michigan team in January of 2010. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here to date and look forward to the possibility of great things to come within the American Red Cross of Southeastern Michigan.
My primary role is to get youth involved in the Red Cross. We have chosen to do this primarily through schools using Red Cross Clubs. Red Cross Clubs are School based clubs which perform community service and support the Red Cross through blood drives, fundraising and educating themselves and their communities. If you are interested in starting a Red Cross Club at your school, please check out the FAQ section as well as the “How to start a Red Cross Club” section. Both should provide you with a ton of information.
I look forward to working with you! If you have any questions, please let me know!
Have a fantastic day!
Laura Kaczor
